EtikA grew from an Amsterdam family with thirteen generations of history in the city, related to philosopher Baruch Spinoza. Hospitality has always been part of our lives. We know how a small detail can change the way a place feels, and how long a fragrance can stay in someone’s memory.
Our connection to Spinoza inspired us to explore his philosophy in a way you can experience through your senses.
The Smell of Wisdom.
In his Ethica, Spinoza explored the emotions and passions that drive us. Our senses can strengthen them. A fragrance may bring you closer to a feeling, a memory, or the person you want to be.
Together with perfumer Mark Buxton, we translate universal human passions into distinct fragrances. Sobrietas is our first: an expression of moderation, with ginger, cedrat and our signature Spinoza Incense.
